For Day 3 of Side by Side, I drew The Lovers. The key themes of this design were CHOICE and PASSION. Fool and Adelita celebrate their union. In the background, set into the upper corners, is an orange tree and an avocado tree, representing fire and knowledge, respectively. In the lower corners are Zeke, their patient mule (and occasional Guardian Angel) and Puppy the Coyote (with a companion of his own). “The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed."
