For Day 5 of Side by Side, I drew Judgment. The key themes behind this design are rebirth, epiphany, and reckoning. We chose a few special highlights—the speaker’s trumpet is emblazoned with “Forgive”, and the ferry boat is named Phoenix, like the mythical bird of rebirth. All three main themes lead to new beginnings, much as ferry boats transport people (or souls) to new cities and new lives.
